Saimira European Grill

Saimira's Outside

Since I’ve gone back to work at the end of October, my friend Kelley and I go for dinner just about every night. On so many occasions before returning to work, she had mentioned this great little restaurant by Klosterman Road that I should go with them to. Not being one to go out in general, I would always say nah maybe some other time. Now, by the time I get off work, I’m absolutely ravenous so one night, Kelley suggests again that we go to Saimira’s. It was probably one of the best suggestions I’d ever taken her up on!

Saimira’s has a delicious Italian menu, as well as a great bar menu. I’ve actually found Italian food where I enjoy the red meat sauce – not too sweet, not too spicy, not too anything…just perfect. Another nice surprise was when I ordered chicken strips for the first time. They weren’t those overbreaded deep-fried chicken tenders – they were actual bread crumb-breaded pan-fried chicken cutlets sliced up. I’d ordered their baked rigatoni and was completely satisfied with both the serving size and the red meat sauce. Well, ok, the serving was HUGE lol. But being such a picky eater, to be able to say that I enjoyed the sauce should speak volumes. The other night I ordered fettucine alfredo and was in absolute heaven.

The bar has a great atmosphere and provides a great location for watching sports while having a couple of beers. The overall layout of the bar is not so crowded that even if its packed people have to lean all over each other to reach the bar or be able to sit with their friends. Their “sidewalk cafe” layout outside is comfortable and inviting. The tables are large enough to be able to enjoy your meal and the area itself is large enough that the tables don’t have to stand too close together.

And the staff? Almost any time that Kelley and I go, Shane is our server – totally friendly and professional. Mira always makes her way over to us to visit and see how we’re all doing. You can hear Joe yelling in the kitchen…that’s just his way lol. No matter where one sits, whether in the bar or in the restaurant, someone is right there ready to greet you and believe me, you will not go home hungry!

Be sure to visit them at http://saimiras.com. The restaurant is located at 38501 US Hwy 19N in Palm Harbor. Call to reserve your holiday party or any other special occasion at (727) 939-4700.
