Back in August I shared my two cents about how I felt about the Caylee Anthony case. I think from the git-go we all knew that poor Caylee had met a tragic end.
It was confirmed that the remains of Caylee Anthony were indeed found less than a mile from the home she shared with her mother, Casey, and her grandparents.
According to ABC News online 12/23, the funeral has not yet been set, but the grandparents are planning to have a public memorial service. The Orange County Department of Corrections has deemed that Casey Anthony is not eligible to attend the viewing or the funeral. You mean there are cases where an accused is eligible to go to the funeral of the one they are accused of killing? Read the rest of this entry »

This has been a particularly crappy year for me. Opted to give up my house in a short sale. Gave up my apartment and moved in with a friend. Put my cats into a foster home. And Barack Obama has already said that it’ll get worse before it gets any better. That totally gives me the warm fuzzies.
But, rather than dwell on all the things that are wrong with my life, I will take a quick moment to remember the things that are right with my life and how they will help me to have a better 2009. Read the rest of this entry »

So these past three months have been absolutely horrible for me. I’m still out of work and still without prospects for a new job.
I just celebrated by 40th birthday two weeks ago and even though several people at my “party” told me they would have thought I was still in my 30’s, I’m beginning to feel older and older with each passing unemployed day. My confidence level is dropping and dropping and bringing my mood right down with it.
I keep trying to find ways to at least improve my mood so that I can have a positive attitude to bring with me on a job interview. Oh wait - I can’t even get an interview… Read the rest of this entry »

December 7th, 67 years ago, the United States suffered a huge loss. The Japanese bombed our Pacific naval base, Pearl Harbor. As an act of war, it made tactical sense to strike a large military installation.
September 11th, 60 years later, the United States suffered another huge loss. We lost the World Trade Center, military and civilian personnel at the Pentagon, and civilian passengers aboard Flight 93.
Rather than spout political and religious rhetoric about what 9/11 means to me, I would rather just spend a few moments with quiet thought and praise the men and women lost and celebrate their lives than spend those few moments hating what I don’t understand.
Never forget.

I should pat myself on the back. I’ve held my tongue about Caylee Anthony for as long as I could.
But I don’t get it.
A mother finds her daughter is missing since June and it doesn’t get reported until July? And then she tells lies to law enforcement that impedes the investigation that could lead to getting her daughter back?
I don’t get it.
There is currently a $225,000 reward being offered and a bounty hunter from California has not only posted the bond for Caylee’s mother’s release, but is also involved with the search for little Caylee.
Joseph Jordan, a father of two from Cocoa Florida, has been instrumental in getting together searchers using message boards and blogs. Read the rest of this entry »

Here’s one I haven’t heard before. A man on Ohio’s Death Row and scheduled to die on October 14th is claiming that his weight will prevent him receiving a painless death.
Richard Cooey, who was convicted of raping and murdering two women in 1986, has filed a federal lawsuit claiming that because he’s 267 lb. and has medically documented that he has inaccessible veins, he might be at risk for the lethal injection process. He also claims that one of the medications he takes for migraine headaches, Topomax, may have created a resistance to one of the chemicals in the lethal cocktail, thiopental. I’m always wary of what I consider to be “cosmetic drugs.” One of the biggest types of drugs available right now has always been a bit unbelievable for me and I’ve always worried that people who bought and used the drug would find themselves in a position where either the drug didn’t work or posed a health threat or caused unwanted side effects.
Men who suffer from erectile dysfunction suffer from more than a body part that doesn’t work properly. There are any number of causes of this condition and it is just as devastating to a man mentally and emotionally as it is physically. No manufacturer or pharmaceutical company should make light of this condition.
Commercials all over tv promise men that if they buy this certain product that all their troubles will be over. Some products claim that 4-hour long erections are possible with their product. While the claim is blatant, the products ads suggest that “if you have an erection lasting four hours, seek medical attention.” Read the rest of this entry »
