Total Bravo-holic!
I really don’t know how it happened. Maybe the fact that I’ve been out of work for three months?
One afternoon about a month or so ago I was sitting and watching absolutely nothing on tv. Just total channel surfing and I decided to see what was happening on Bravo. Well it happened to be a previous season (I think it was season 2) of Project Runway. Fashion and beautiful people are so totally not my thing. But one of the designers really kinda struck me - Santino Rice. I think it was like a 6 episode marathon or something like that - could have been more I don’t know - I totally lost track of the afternoon.
Mind you, I’m a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl - totally not into fashion or “beautiful” people. But I was hooked.
After the mini-marathon, the first episodes of the 5th season were played right up to the next episode. And tonight was part one of the two part season finale and I really can’t wait to see who’ll win at Bryant Park.
I totally love Tim Gunn and the way he works with the designers. I love the way he emotes and expresses the way he feels about the designers and the projects they come up with. No question that he had his work cut out for him with Kenley Collins. Without a doubt this chick has serious problems with criticism.
Heidi Klum is probably one of the most adorable hosts I’ve ever seen. Her voice and accent totally match her physical appearance and she has such a bubbly personality. During the previous season marathon, she was pregnant through most of it. I have never seen a woman more attractive than she was. Don’t get me wrong - all pregnant women are beautiful. But she was adorable.
Nina Garcia and Michael Kors round out the judges quite nicely. Although they find plenty wrong with a design at times, they also try to find a positive. This, without question, can be an extremely difficult thing for them. They make no bones about a design they don’t like and try really hard to find something positive and be sincere about it. That’s a great thing for a judge to do.
I’m totally looking forward to next week to see how Bryant Park and the final judging work out. As you’ve noticed, I haven’t made any mention about who’s going to Bryant Park - I figure if you haven’t had a chance to see tonight’s episode, you’ll have plenty of time between now and next Wednesday to see who’s made it.
Hmmm…I can’t imagine what I’m going to watch once the season is over. I know I’m not going to watch Top Chef. Hmmm…I think I said the same thing about Project Runway…
